Finding Your Account
The first step is to connect your old Salon.io account to your new one.
Create a site first
New Salon is a separate system from the old Salon.io — and migration happens into a site, so you need one to import into. If you haven't already:
- Sign in at new.salon.io with your new account (your old Salon.io login won't work here).
- On your dashboard, click Create New Site. (If your dashboard still shows a getting-started video, you haven't created a site yet.)
Open the import tool
With a site created, open its Settings → Migration — that's where you connect your old account and import. (You can also start from Settings → Account → Legacy Salon.io Account to link first, then do the import from any site's Migration tab.)
Find your account
Enter the email address or username from your Salon.io account. We'll look it up and show a quick summary — your username, display name, and how many pages and images we found — so you can confirm it's the right one.
Tip: If you changed your email recently, search by username instead — it's the most reliable way to find your account.
Verify it's you
To protect your content, you confirm ownership with your Salon.io password. Once verified, your legacy account is linked to your new one and your 90-day Pro trial begins (see Membership carry-over).
Linking vs. importing
Verifying your password links your Salon.io account to this one. A legacy account can be linked to one New Salon account — so if it's already linked elsewhere, you'll see a note saying so. That doesn't block you: you can still import content from it as long as you have the password. Linking is only about claiming the account and your trial; importing brings the pages across either way.
If your account isn't found
- Double-check the email — use the exact address from your Salon.io account.
- If you signed up with a social login, try the email tied to that account.
- Still stuck? See Troubleshooting or contact support.
Next
Once your account is linked, continue to the import process to choose pages and bring your content over.
