Migrating from Salon.io
Already have a site on the original salon.io? You can bring your pages, images, and text across to the new platform without rebuilding from scratch. Migration copies your content into a new site here — it doesn't touch your old site, which keeps working until you decide to switch off.
How it works
Migration is a short, guided flow:
- Find your account — look it up by the email or username you used on Salon.io.
- Verify it's you — confirm with your Salon.io password.
- Select pages — choose which pages to bring over.
- Import — watch your content come across, page by page.
When you first link your legacy account, you also get a 90-day Pro trial so you have room to rebuild and explore.
What transfers
- Pages — title, address (slug), order, and whether they're public or hidden (a page that's live but kept out of your navigation menu).
- Images — your photos, with their captions, links, and sizing carried over.
- Text — your text content and basic styling.
- Videos — YouTube and Vimeo embeds found in your pages.
- Layout — each legacy page's layout is mapped to the closest SalonEngine layout (see Membership carry-over for tier handling).
Password-protected pages can't be migrated — the Salon.io API doesn't expose their content. If you have password-protected pages, remove the protection on Salon.io before importing, then re-add it here afterwards if you still need it.
What is not migrated
- Your custom domain's DNS — you'll reconnect your domain in site settings, it isn't set up automatically.
- Account details from Salon.io (password, payment info, notification settings).
