Your Profile
Your profile is the public face of your New Salon account. It holds your Display Name, avatar, header image, bio, website link, and artistic practice.
To open it, go to Settings — you'll land on the Profile tab automatically.
Edit your profile
The Profile page is split into a few cards. Make your changes, then click Save Changes. The button stays disabled until you've actually changed something.
Profile Picture & Website
| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| Header Image | A wide banner shown behind your avatar on your public profile. |
| Position | Frame the banner — Top, Center, or Bottom. Appears once a header image is set. |
| Profile Picture | Your avatar. Click the camera icon to upload a new photo. If you have no avatar, your initials are shown. |
| Website | A link to your personal site. You can type a bare domain — https:// is added for you. |
To change your header or avatar, click the image (or the camera icon) and pick a file. You'll see a preview right away, but it isn't live until you Save Changes.
Display Name & Bio
- Display Name — how your name appears publicly. This is separate from your username.
- Bio — a short blurb about yourself and your work.
Artistic Practice
Pick one or more categories that describe what you create. Choose Other to type in your own.
Display name vs. username
These are two different things:
- Display Name is the friendly, public-facing name you set here. It can include spaces and be changed freely.
- Username is the unique handle used in your URLs (for example,
/yourname/yoursite). It comes from your account and isn't edited on this page.
Where your profile appears
The details you set here show up in a few places:
- Your public profile page, with the header image as a banner and your avatar in front of it.
- The editor, where your avatar appears in the top bar.
- Anywhere your Display Name or avatar represents you across the platform.
Avatars and header images are stored as part of your account, so they stay consistent across your sites.
