Social Links
Connect your social media profiles to your account. Once added, they're available across your sites and can appear in your footer so visitors can find you everywhere.
Adding a link
Go to Settings → Social Links, then:
- Click Add Social Link.
- Pick a platform from the list.
- Enter your username or full URL and click Add.
Each link saves automatically the moment you add it — there's no separate save step.
Supported platforms
| Platform | Example input |
|---|---|
| username or URL | |
| X (Twitter) | username or URL |
| username or URL | |
| GitHub | username or URL |
| Vimeo | username or URL |
| YouTube | channel or URL |
| TikTok | username or URL |
| Substack | publication or URL |
Usernames, not URLs
You can paste either a username (like yourname) or a full profile URL — New Salon extracts the username for you. So https://instagram.com/yourname, @yourname, and yourname all resolve to the same thing.
This keeps your links rename-safe: New Salon stores just your username and rebuilds the full link each time it's used. If a platform ever changes its URL format, your link keeps working.
Managing your links
For each configured link you can:
- Test link (the external-link icon) — opens your profile in a new tab to confirm it's correct.
- Edit (the pencil icon) — change the username, then click Save.
- Remove (the trash icon) — deletes the link.
Edits and removals also save automatically.
Showing links on your site
Your social links can be displayed in your site footer. Manage which icons appear and how they look in the footer editor — see Footer.
Your footer can also include a Salon link that points to your public New Salon profile at new.salon.io/yourusername. Because it resolves from your current username, it stays correct even if you rename your account.
