SEO
Control how your site appears in Google and other search engines, and how it looks when someone shares a link to it. Open your site's Settings, then the SEO tab.
SEO Score
At the top, a SEO Score card analyzes your homepage and gives it an overall rating (Needs Work, Good, or Excellent). Below the score you'll see up to three of the most important issues to fix, each with a short explanation. Use it as a quick checklist as you fill in the fields below.
Search Engine Optimization
This section controls how your site shows up in search results.
| Field | What it does | Limit |
|---|---|---|
| SEO Title | The clickable headline in search results. Falls back to your site title if left blank. | 60 characters |
| SEO Description | The short summary shown under the title in search results. | 160 characters |
| Keywords | Topics describing your site. | — |
Each field shows a live character counter so you can keep titles and descriptions within the limits search engines display.
Keywords
Type your keywords separated by commas, for example:
portfolio, design, art, creative
Type freely — commas and spaces are kept exactly as you enter them. When you click away from the field, the list tidies itself into a clean, comma-separated format.
When you're done, click Save Changes below this section. The button stays disabled until you've made an edit.
Social Media
This section controls the text shown when a link to your site is shared on Facebook, LinkedIn, X, and other platforms.
| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| OpenGraph Title | The title shown on shared link previews. Falls back to your SEO Title (or site title) if blank. |
| OpenGraph Description | The description shown on shared link previews. Falls back to your SEO Description if blank. |
| Twitter / X Handle | Your X username, used to credit your account in shared previews. Enter it without the @ — anything else is stripped automatically. |
Click Save Changes at the bottom of this section to apply your social settings. This Save button is separate from the one above, so you can save each section on its own.
Social Preview Image: The image on shared previews (the "OG Image") is set on the Appearance tab for the whole site, or per page from the Page panel. By default, New Salon generates one from each page automatically.
Tips
- Write a unique, specific SEO Title and SEO Description for each site rather than relying on the fallback.
- Keep your title under 60 and your description under 160 characters so they don't get cut off in search results.
- Use a handful of relevant keywords — quality over quantity.
