Cache
New Salon caches your published pages so visitors load them fast. Because of caching, a change you make won't always appear the instant you save it. Most of the time you don't need to think about this, but if a recent edit isn't showing up live, clearing the cache forces visitors to see your latest content.
Leaving the editor clears the cache automatically
In most cases you never have to clear the cache yourself. When you leave edit mode, New Salon refreshes the cache for that page so your changes go live.
You can leave edit mode with either of these:
- Stop Editing in the top bar
- The Preview (pencil) icon in the floating toolbar
Both do the same thing: they exit the editor, refresh the page's cache, and load the live version so you can confirm your changes are published.
Clearing the cache manually
If you've made changes outside the editor, or a visitor reports seeing an old version of your site, you can clear the cache by hand:
- Open your site's Settings.
- Go to the General tab.
- Under Performance, click Clear Cache.
You'll see a confirmation once it's done. Cache clearing can take a few moments to propagate across servers, so give it a minute before checking the live site.
When to clear the cache
| Situation | What to do |
|---|---|
| You edited a page and clicked Stop Editing / Preview | Nothing — the cache cleared automatically |
| Your latest changes aren't showing on the live site | Click Clear Cache under General → Performance |
| A visitor reports an outdated version | Click Clear Cache, then refresh the live page |
